Dr. Kyriaki Tsilika currently serves as an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics, University of Thessaly, and as adjunct faculty at Hellenic Open University. Kyriaki Tsilika holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the Faculty of Engineering of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.
Her current research interests are focused on Computational Economics, Data visualization, Information visualization, Graph Theory, Computational Mathematics, and Computer Algebra Systems. Areas and subjects encompassed include computer-based economic modeling for solution of analytically and statistically formulated economic problems, programming tools specifically designed for computational economics, computational aspects of sustainability, and pedagogical tools for the teaching of computational economics. Dr. Tsilika`s research findings have appeared in several national and international peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. She has participated and presented articles in many National and International Conferences on subjects concerning computational-based research practice and education. Some of her work involving Wolfram technology has been included in Wolfram Notebook Archive and in Wolfram Library Archive. During her 20-year experience at the University of Thessaly in Volos Greece and in the former Technological Educational Institute of Thessaly in Larissa Greece, she has taught several undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the fields of Computational Mathematics, Computational Statistics, Operational Research, Decision Making, most of them economics-oriented. Her teaching philosophy reflects her interest in computer-based learning. She stands in favor of teaching with the incorporation of new informatics and communication technologies in educational activities. She has been an instructor in three seminar series (2012-2013) organized by the “Small Enterprises’ Institute of the Hellenic Confederation of Professionals, Craftsmen and Merchants”.
In 2019 she joined the editorial board of Astrolavos, a scientific journal in New Technologies by the Hellenic Mathematical Society.
