Dr. Ιlias S. Kevork

Short C.V.

Ilias S. Kevork has been serving the Economics Department of University of Thessaly since September 2001 first as a visiting Lecturer and then as Lecturer and Assistant Professor initially without tenure and afterwards with tenure. Since June 2016, he has been serving the Department as Associate Professor in Managerial Economics. Dr. Kevork graduated (1984) from the Athens Economics University (ex ASOEE) with a B.Sc. degree in Economics. He holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.; 1984) in Statistics and a Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph. D; 1990) in statistical aspects of discrete event computer simulation (with emphasis on outputs from inventory and queuing systems) from the London School of Economics (LSE), University of London. During his study at the Ph.D. level, he won a scholarship from the Onassis Foundation

Dr. Kevork’s research interests are in the fields of Applied Economics, Management Science, Business Statistics and Time-Series and Forecasting. His research areas include (a) supply chains and inventory management, (b) forecasting using time series models, (c) models of consumer patterns using data from household sample surveys, and (d) discrete event computer simulation for studying the dynamic evolution of inventory and queuing models. His work has been published in refereed journals including European Journal of Operational Research, OMEGA, ΙΜΑ-Journal of Management Mathematics, International Transactions in Operational Research, Journal of Applied Statistics, Applied Economics, Applied Economics Letters. Since 2005, Dr. Kevork has participated in a number of research projects including ESPA 2007-2013, ΕU 7-Cooperation, Phare, EQUAL etc. Before joining the Economics Department, he worked as a research fellow and an expert in various research institutions and consulting companies in Greece including the Research Center of the Athens University of Economics and Business, the Hellenic Institute of Health and Safety at Work, The Federation of Hellenic Information Technology & Communications Enterprises (SEPE), the European Research Center, the Doxiadis Associates etc.
