Energy corridors are central to contemporary geopolitics because they shape both energy flows and power relations among states. Pipelines, in particular, create long-term spatial commitments that bind producers and consumers into structured interdependence, transforming geography into a source of political leverage. Within this framework, the Burgas–Alexandroupoli Pipeline (BAP) should be understood not simply as an infrastructure project but as a strategic instrument embedded in broader geopolitical competition between Russia, the European Union and the United States.
